Use cases (e.g. prospects, industry leaders)

Here are the most common use cases we advise, for creating custom lists:

  1. Prospects

This is the most obvious one people think of and it’s valid. You simply take your top 20, 50, 100 or so target account buyers - preferably the ones who are somewhat active - and upload them to a Custom List. Call it “ICP Prospects” or something else meaningful to you.

  1. Partners

Less often thought of but very important: build a list of everyone who has referred you a good lead in the last 18 months. These folks often refer you business because they think you’re good at what you do, so - stay top of mind with them!

  1. Influencers

You may want to start with one of Aware’s curated influencer lists. Go to the Curated Feeds engagement feed, look through the dropdowns, and find one that’s relevant to you. If you don’t see one, or even if you do but want to build your own, you can also use Find People to run a search for profiles by keyword. However you do it, you should end up with a list - custom or premade, doesn’t matter, just needs to be relevant - of people that have real authority in your niche.

  1. Customers

Your current and past customers and clients are a great kind of profile to have on your lists. Not just because engaging with their content helps them, but it also keeps you top of mind socially with them outside of the engagement. And if they’re not currently buying from you, you can treat them as more of a prospect, but one you’re familiar with!
