Keyword-based Feeds

Note: This feature is less reliable than it used to be. We advise using Find People to find people to add to your feed, and using Custom Feeds by Specific People, instead. However, if you have a niche keyword that is very specific and important to you, these lists can work.

When setting up keyword feedsfeeds in Aware, the first thing to note is that our keyword feeds are going to bring in very similar results as what you see when performing that same search on LinkedIn directly.

Here's an example of such a search:

https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/content/?datePosted=%22past-week%22&keywords=demand%20generation&origin=FACETED_SEARCH&sid=8U1&sortBy=%22relevance%22

You'll see two LinkedIn fields that correspond to Aware fields:

  1. Content keywords

  2. Author keywords

As you can see in the screenshot below, the content keyword filter is what you would put in the search bar; the author keyword filter is what you'd put in that same LinkedIn Search field, below.

Below, you can see what that corresponds to in Aware fields:

Strategy: Use Keyword search feeds to identify new people to add to your Specific Person Custom Feeds

While keyword search lists can be handy, LinkedIn search is not very powerful or precise. As a result, neither is this feature. Here are some tips for using Keyword searches effectively:

  1. Stay broad. We've noticed, ironically, that the fewer keywords you use, the better results you'll get. Create more keyword search lists rather than trying to make each list ultra-precise.

  2. Use for influencer discovery. LinkedIn search doesn't produce a very focused engagement feed for most people, so what they instead do is add creators they find from keyword lists, to specific person lists, like this:

Strategy: Use for highly specific, niche keywords

We’ve had Aware users tell us, “I can’t use the Find People feature because the person who posts isn’t as relevant as them mentioning one hyper specific keyword!” So whether that’s “GraphQL” or “Supersend” or “OpenAI” or the brand name of your competitor, there are use cases for Keyword Search Feeds that DO end up giving you highly valuable lists of posts, even if you have to skip some to get there.
